Winter storms can be very unpredictable; it’s always important to be aware and prepared for whatever may come.  Dangerous factors caused by winter storms are usually strong winds, icing, sleet and freezing rain. During these treacherous storms, you have to make sure to take the necessary precautions to stay safe in your home. Here are some tips to make sure you are full prepared before a winter storm:

• Working flashlight and batteries stocked
• Make sure your heating system is clean, working properly, and ventilated to the outside
• Check to make sure your phone is fully charged in case you have to make emergency calls
• Extra food, water and medicine
• First Aid Kit fully supplied
• Emergency heating source
• Fire extinguishers are properly working
• Make sure the batteries in your Carbon monoxide and smoke detectors are not dead

It’s also important to check on others around you such has neighbors and family members in the area to make sure that they have all the supplies and equipment they need.
