• Develop a communication plan in case your family is not together during an evacuation
• Identify where you can go if you need to reach higher ground quickly and on foot
• Keep enough fuel in your car’s tank and have an  emergency kit in your car as well 
• Fill up your clean water containers
• Turn off gas, electricity and water and disconnect all  appliances

You should always stay in communication with your family members if you are not together to make sure they are alright and have a safety plan.
